Invitation to Worship
To all who are weary and need rest
To all who mourn and long for comfort
To all those who wander and are looking for a story
To all who feel isolated and miss community
To all who are broken and want healing
To all who feel worthless and wonder if God cares
To all who are oppressed and yearn for justice
To all who fail and desire strength
To all who sin and need a Savior
To all who hunger and thirst for righteousness
And to whomever will come–
This church opens wide her arms and offers welcome
In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ
Scripture Reading
Psalm 96
[1] Oh sing to the LORD a new song;
sing to the LORD, all the earth!
[2] Sing to the LORD, bless his name;
tell of his salvation from day to day.
[3] Declare his glory among the nations,
his marvelous works among all the peoples!
[4] For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised;
he is to be feared above all gods.
[5] For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols,
but the LORD made the heavens.
[6] Splendor and majesty are before him;
strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.
[7] Ascribe to the LORD, O families of the peoples,
ascribe to the LORD glory and strength!
[8] Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name;
bring an offering, and come into his courts!
[9] Worship the LORD in the splendor of holiness;
tremble before him, all the earth!
[10] Say among the nations, “The LORD reigns!
Yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved;
he will judge the peoples with equity.”
[11] Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice;
let the sea roar, and all that fills it;
[12] let the field exult, and everything in it!
Then shall all the trees of the forest sing for joy
[13] before the LORD, for he comes,
for he comes to judge the earth.
He will judge the world in righteousness,
and the peoples in his faithfulness.

A Time of Prayer
You can pray this prayer or use it as a starting point for your own time of prayer.
“I said to the Lord, ‘You are my Master! Every good thing I have comes from you.’ … ‘Lord, you alone are my inheritance, my cup of blessing.’” Psalm 16:2-5 (NLT)
Lord Jesus, in total agreement with King David, we celebrate you as our perfect Savior, loving Master, and incomparable Inheritance. Every good thing we have comes from you. No other “master” has ever died to make his subjects his beloved bride.
You are the fountain of pleasures and the river of everlasting delights—the wellspring of joy and the source of deepest satisfaction. You give cheerfully, not begrudgingly. You love lavishly, not reservedly. You redeem fully, not partially.
Lord Jesus, in your time and way, you will make all things new and everything beautiful. For you aren’t just the Master of souls, but the King of solar systems, societies, and seas.
Of all inheritances our vulnerable hearts might crave, Jesus, you alone are to be treasured and trusted. Compared to you, all other gold is fool’s gold, all other currencies are counterfeit, all other riches are rubbish.
To live is to know you, and death will be gaining more of you. Because of your current reign and certain return, our hope for the future is thriving, and our fears for today are crumbling. We are so glad to be yours, Lord Jesus. Deepen our intimacy with you, and increase our kindness towards others. We pray these things in Jesus’ wonderful and merciful name. Amen.
